The relationship between work status congruency and the job attitudes of full-time and part-time Canadian and Jordanian nurses

Article Abstract:

Research comparing the attitudes of nurses in Canada and Jordon found they all reported feeling undervalued and unsupported in their work. The nurses in Jordon did not feel they gained as much support from other workers as their counterparts in Canada. Canadian nurses, who worked full-time yet wished to work part-time, were especially unhappy at work. Canadian nurses tended to be older and some were married with children. Women in Jordon are expected to stop working when they become mothers. The research included 272 Jordanian nurses and 554 Canadian nurses.

The congruence of actual and perceived person-organization fit

Article Abstract:

Two varried assessments of person-organization fit are compared: actual fit and perceived fit. To investigate which values have the strongest influence on employee's fit perceptions, the four quadrants of the Competing Values Framework (CVF) was used. It was found that human relations values have the strongest predictive force for employees' fit perceptions and rational values contribute the least.
