Ways technology will drive 401(k) competition
Article Abstract:
Service providers face the challenge of providing plan sponsors easy access to timely, integrated information. Some of the technological innovations being used by service providers to meet this demand include automated plan administration and record keeping, voice response systems and imaging technology. A real move toward on-demand information can be expected as 401(k) plan administration becomes more sophisticated.

401(k) telephone service offers educational tool
Article Abstract:
Participants in 401(k) plans are increasingly using telephone services to manage their accounts. When selecting such services, participants should choose those that, at the very least, enable them to make day-to-day inquiries and transactions, receive information, and enroll in the plan. Service providers should promote the value of these services as an educational tool.
