Article Abstract:

The consolidation of the worldwide human resources consultancy industry is being driven by the sector's aim to improve its outsourcing capabilities in the light of the decline of the demand for consultancies. However, recent consolidations such as Coopers & Lybrand's acquisition of Kwasha Lipton indicate the finance industry's interest in the consultancy sector. Meanwhile, the ongoing consolidation is expected to diversify the ownership of many of consultancies in the industry.

Quality is not suffering

Article Abstract:

The ongoing mergers and acquisitions in the brokerage industry still provides a choice for both customers and consultants and, similarly significant, quality is not deteriorating. Fortunately, new consulting companies such as CA-based Bowker Consulting and Adelaide Consulting in Milan and Rome in Italy are emerging. The acquisition of Sedgwick by Marsh & McLennan is one example of the recent takeovers that have occurred in the industry.
