A survey of global insurance opportunities
Article Abstract:
The insurance industry must be prepared to meet the growing demand for their products as the global economy continues to expand. Regional market share and growth rate should be considered in global expansion plans. Europe's growth rates for life, non-life and total business insurance have risen by 9.2%, 4.6% and 6.7%, respectively, from 1986 to 1993. Asian growth rate was pegged at 7% for life insurance, 4.9% non-life, and 6.4% total business insurance within the same period.

The "temporary" CPCU - adjusting to the changing workplace
Article Abstract:
The increasing use of temporary employees is one of the key developments in the 1990s workplace, particularly in the insurance industry. As such, it brings major challenges to employers, the CPCU society and temporary workers as well. For employers, a big advantage with using temporary employees is the ability to cope with the increased workload. For displaced or laid-off workers, temporary employment offers a new source of income.
