CD-ROM's business use is music to agents' ears
Article Abstract:
CD-ROMs offer insurance agents and executives the storage capacity they need in the office or in the field. The large amount of data CD-ROMs can hold is necessary to store the files, claims, and regulations many agents need on a daily basis. Resource information is one of the favorite uses, as agents can instantly search an entire disk and find specific information. Specific insurance industry databases have been created, as have more general office publications such as dictionaries, atlases, thesauruses and other reference books.

Tap the Internet's endless supply of information
Article Abstract:
Not many insurance businesses take full advantage of the vast amount of information found on the Internet. Company officials often find it difficult to explore the giant database. Starting with the Yahoo site makes searching easier for users. Carnegie Mellon University's Lycos site is also a good way for users to start. At either site, users type in keywords, such as 'insurance' to arrive at their destinations.
