Insurance companies should help the independent agencies that represent them develop business and marketing plans. Companies have the technological resources and employee expertise, often lacked by agencies, to adequately plan out the specific and overall strategies according to which agencies sell their services. Companies will learn about the local environments in which their products are sold if they help independent agencies plan out their marketing and business strategies.
