The market is growing in the area of technical work stations. These are powerful microcomputers, and are generally used by scientists or engineers. There are two major contenders in the arena. They are: Apollo Computer, and Sun Microsystems. The two companies are quite different from one another. It is expected that competition from the big computer manufacturers is soon to enter the scene. Investment statistics of Apollo Computer are provided in a short table. Photographs of Sun Microsystems and Apollo executives are included.

Chief executive compensation: an argument for a high reward system
Article Abstract:
Positive and negative prevailing public attitudes about the high rate of compensation for corporate chief executive officers are summarized. An attempt is made to link motivation and pay at the CEO level, to analyze the influence of CEO peers and to examine how high compensation must be to motivate. Several motivational theories are presented and discussed. An author's model is presented to show the necessity of high levels of CEO compensation.

"Credit cards ruined my life."

A woman recounts her experience as an abuser of credit cards. She got her first plastic at the age of 16 and eventually collected more cards by forging her parents' signatures. She was using them to buy expensive things and confessed only when investigators were about to find her out.
