Converting your retiree medical benefits to a medicare supplement plan
Article Abstract:
Retiree medical plans present a problem to many benefits professionals because of their cost and the difficulty of administering them. A number of companies are resolving this problem by buying group Medicare supplement coverage from an insurer. These Medicare supplement plans offer a number of advantages, including the possible reduction of out-of-pocket expenses, better integration of benefits with Medicare, and full coverage of products. However, these plans also have certain disadvantages, such as non-uniformity of benefits across states and possibly higher costs of coverage.
