Article Abstract:
Problems with fraud appear to be increasing in all segments of insurance. The con artists are experienced white-collar professionals and trusted employees from within a company. One method of ferreting out insurance fraud perpetrators is through the analysis of large volumes of claims data using increasingly sophisticated technology software. Such so-called data mining tools may detect the behaviour of individuals and institutions engaged in fraud and establish the link between the participants.
