Health plan performance gets overhauled
Article Abstract:
The National Committee for Quality Assurance released a proposed set of measures of patient satisfaction and health plans' effectiveness in treatment. Called the Health Employers' Data Information Set (Hedis 3.0), the new data set includes more accurate measurement of patient outcomes than previous proposals, and combines standards for public and private medical care. Hedis 3.0 may be used by large employers to evaluate the care given by providers.
