Industry profile - numerous pressures have obscured an otherwise decent profit picture
Article Abstract:
The trends in earnings of property and casualty insurance industry during 2004 are discussed. The industry reported decent profits during the review period. However, there were many other factors related to the industry that came into prominence and the earnings were relegated to the background. A list of top 20 property insurance companies during 2003 is also presented and their rankings are compared with those in 2002 and 2001. Statistics relating to net premium written by these companies is also presented.
