Future trends in industry operations indicate that information systems will be linked with office automation. Knowledge workers familiar with information systems will also become automation users. Management work stations will improve work flow, have automated in-baskets, have on-line daily company reports and generally reduce paper and clerical work. Voice mailboxes have enabled personnel to leave retrievable messages and has reduced phone interruptions. User acceptance is a key to success. The system must be large enough to satisfy a user's need at his workstation. The system must be reliable. And finally, the system must be easy to use with minimal guidelines and great flexability.
