Managed care begins with managed expectations
Article Abstract:
Employers must aggressively manage their expectations about company health care plans in order to administer all their health care benefits as one program and to positively affect the cost and quality of their program. The principal tool for managing expectations is a set of custom performance specifications, which gives employers standards against which to measure and control outcomes. Variables discussed include vendor and provider network criteria, patient care management, claim administration and utilization management.
