The life insurance industry may soon have to clarify their policyholders' participation rights. The traditional practice has been to prevent policyholders from understanding how policy operation and performance is managed. Life insurers are vague on the allocation rights of stockholders and policyholders to insurers' earnings. Additionally, these insurers sometimes obscure how they make distributions allocated to their policyholders.
