Chief executive officers (CEOs) are destined to become major players in the financial market and full-service organizations. In the light of an increasing market competition, board of directors of some large insurance enterprises are trying to scout CEOs who possess broad financial background and top-flight management skills. Part of his responsibility is to improve profitability, boost sales and expand the line-up of financial service products.

Banks are opportunities, not obstacles

Article Abstract:

Insurance companies would be wise to view banks as potential marketing allies instead of adversaries. The strategy of pursuing litigation to fight the expansion of bank powers is questionable, given Supreme Court rulings that appear to support the expansion. Insurance agents could capitalize on bank access to middle-income customers. Competition for insurers is coming from a range of financial services firms, not only banks.

Banks urged to hasten movement into insurance

Article Abstract:

The Financial Institutions Insurance Association (FIIA) is encouraging banks to take their fight to sell insurance products to the level of state legislatures. The recent Barnett Bank decision will move the political battles to the state level, according to the incoming president of FIIA. Small towns and regional areas will be the next target for banks to sell insurance in.
