The hidden savings in expensive procedures
Article Abstract:
Advanced medical technology, such as minimally invasive surgery, can reduce medical insurance costs. These procedures, which include hernia repair and gallbladder removal, require the most expensive medical equipment but reduce the recuperative costs. These procedures require more operating time but allow patients to leave the hospital and return to work in days rather than in weeks. These procedures require less tissue manipulation which enables the patient to get well much sooner.

Mapping out hot spots in health insurance
Article Abstract:
Electronic mapping technology offers health insurance providers an effective tool that can help make sales to potential customers. Passage of health care bill provokes new coverage battles
Article Abstract:
Two major issues remain before the Kassebaum-Kennedy health care package will be signed into law, despite receiving unanimous passage in the Senate. The exclusion of medical savings accounts by the Senate will be fought by House Republicans, while insurers have mixed feelings about the products. Multiple employee welfare arrangements are also a contentious issue for insurance companies, as several arguments for and against are making the rounds.
