Crisis counseling can minimize employee trauma
Article Abstract:
Workplace crisis-induced traumatic incidents such as suicides, industrial accidents, violence, sexual crimes, unexpected layoffs and others can lead to severe emotional and psychological problems. Employee assistance programs, however, have responded by providing immediate counseling to victims in the workplace. Trauma intervention teams can also coordinate with the management to determine the extent of the crisis and its possible effects on employees so that appropriate types of counseling can be given.
