Bosnia after SFOR: Options for continued US engagement
Article Abstract:
Peace in Bosnia remains elusive despite the looming June 1998 deadline for withdrawing US and NATO troops. The Bosnian parties have failed to fully comply with the Dayton Agreement, and the NATO-led Stabilisation Force (SFOR) has recently been taking a more proactive stance. The US Congress has indicated it will not support long term military presence, therefore there is a need to alter the Dayton framework to enable a more stable Bosnia.
