Intrafamily femicide in the defence of honour: the case of Jordan
Article Abstract:
This article addresses the issue of honor killings in Jordan, an intrafamily tradition that involves femicide; the social, religious, legal, tribal and nationalist implications are discussed. Even though this practice contradicts national and international laws, it has been normalized through social values that subjugate women and accept domestic violence as non-criminal behavior; the author believes that comprehensive social, legal and political reforms are necessary to change the cultural acceptance of honor killings.

Dealing with radical Islam: the case of Jordan
Article Abstract:
The Jordanian formula of giving the Islamists a place of power in the political arena can be accepted as a model for affecting peace and stability in the regions where Islamic activism is gaining ground. The West perceives these fundamentalist forces as a threat to the territorial integrity. The Jordanian politicians have proven that they can rise above their religious prejudices and work towards a coordinated system of governance. This method calls for emulation by the Middle Eastern policy makers.

The clash within Islam
Article Abstract:
