Article Abstract:
Vladimir Putin changed the foreign policy of semi-democratic Russia and entered into a new strategic partnership with the West based on expanding cooperation, but this partnership still requires stability. The domestic political influence of the oil and gas lobby, the military services, civilian bureaucracy, the military and military industrial complex can be the reason for Russia's new approach, but for the continuity of this new strategic partnership both sides need to make equal efforts.

A view from Asia: Vladmir Putin's Korean opportunity: Russian interests in the North Korean nuclear crises
Article Abstract:
Russia's strategic interests related to the regional security dilemma surrounding North Korean nuclear weapons programs, which is based on two basic principles namely a nuclear-free Korean peninsula and political resolution of the crisis, is examined. The conclusion states that despite a lack of progress, Russia continues to desire multilateral talks since the meetings forestall unilateral actions by the two countries that would be detrimental to Russian interests.
