Social and cosmopolitan liberalism
Article Abstract:
Social liberalism is usually preferred over cosmopolitan liberalism in terms of analyzing international redistributive justice. This is due to the fact that social liberals are primarily concerned about fairness to states and societies, while cosmopolitan liberals are concerned mostly with fairness to the individual. Differences in principles between the two types regarding domestic and international civil society have also become the basis for preference among political and social philosophers for social liberalism.
