The Kyoto Protocol's 'clean development mechanism': a sustainability assessment
Article Abstract:
This article assesses the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in the Kyoto Protocol by drawing on research in sustainable development and sustainability, and containing ecological, economic and social elements. The author focuses on proposals to cap the extent to which industrialized countries can use CDM to meet their greenhouse gas emission limitations, the restriction of CDM to certain kinds of projects, and geographical quotas that would allow CDM activity in developing countries.

Of miracles and models: the rise and decline of the developmental state in South Korea
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the economic success of South Korea due to the implementation of a strong developmental policy. The author argues South Korea's insulation from demands of social classes enabled the state to stay focused on rapid industrialization and place the South Korean economy in the work markets, however, the success of industrialization created social class pressures which forced the state to end the policy.
