Mental "stress" claims and workers' compensation: the problems and suggestions for change
Article Abstract:
It is possible to improve the workers' compensation system such that claims for mental stress are handled more responsibly. Legal causality needs to be brought in line with medical and psychiatric knowledge of etiology. The result would be an increased threshold for causality of work related stress. Insurance coverage needs to be expanded or at least have discrimination against treatment ended. Hawaii provides one example of improvements.

Technical overview of the Year 2000 problem
Article Abstract:
Businesses should consider the Year 2000 problem as a management issue rather than a technical issue. Since the problem could disrupt organizations' delivery of goods and services, management must identify and address the risks the problem poses to their operations. Businesses must then formulate a methodology directing the allocation of resources in preventing future technical and legal problems.
