Antiterrorism measures implemented since the Sept 11 attacks and affecting both governments and multinational corporations are discussed. Many companies have also done focused audits to confirm their control over materials and technology that might lead to the development of biological weapons.

The money laundering remedies afforded financial institutions by the Antiterrorism Act of 2001 are discussed. The law includes key amendments to the Money Laundering Control Act and changes in business reporting of large cash transactions.
