Tailoring the ADR clause in international contracts

International arbitration's rapid spread across the globe means negotiating an ADR clause in international contracts is more important than ever. New arbitration sites are one thing to consider, and a neutral location is often the best choice. The method of dispute resolution should be agreed on in the original contract. Issues to keep in mind when negotiating an international arbitration agreement include venue, awards, rules of procedure and potential problems.
