The Superior Court in Washington, D.C., opened a high-tech domestic violence center in Oct 2002 at the Greater Southeast Hospital. The center includes a video camera, connected to the courthouse by means of a dedicated T-1 line, so that judges do not need to require victims to make a long trip downtown in order to receive assistance.
