Critical issue: the single market

Article Abstract:

A number of important areas in European Union legislation have not yet been amended to cater for single market conditions. These include areas of company law and accounting, intellectual property, public procurement, technical standards, taxation, energy, financial services, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and transport. Surprisingly, passport controls have not been axed despite numerous moves towards their removal.
