Dismal record for minorities
Article Abstract:
Major change has not taken place in the area of corporate behavior toward minorities. This can be attributed to several factors, including the benign neglect which presidents since Lyndon Johnson have practiced toward minorities and the fact that Congress is more interested in the rich than in empowering the minority consumer. California's Greenlining Coalition is lobbying major businesses to change this state of affairs. Its achievements include forcing the Bank of America to set a 10-year goal of contributions to inner-city development.
