'Family values' embrace fault in divorce
Article Abstract:
Efforts to roll back the no-fault divorce concept that California pioneered 25 years ago and that swept the nation thereafter ignore the problems that sparked that change, and may disguise a hidden agenda. Proponents of restricted divorce contend that no-fault divorce is irresponsible and goes against the best wishes of the children and of society. This has never been demonstrated, however, and the contentiousness, unfairness, and painful attacks of the prior system seem ready to return as well.
