Miffed over a mole: controversy erupts over a lawyer-informant who continued to practice law after admitting a felony

Article Abstract:

Criminal attorneys and legal ethics experts are outraged over the FBI's use of Georgian attorney Leonard B. Grossman as an informant in a money laundering case. The Georgia bar is similarly critical of the FBI's use of Grossman in the Hip Sing Assn investigation. The FBI's action violates the spirit of the attorney-client relationship and cannot be justified by the facts of the case, according to ethics experts.

Athletics and law share much including a will to win tempered by a dedication to fair play. Both the law and sports are governed by rules interpreted and carried out by impartial judges. Being a winner in both requires mental toughness and competitiveness. The experiences of 13 attorneys who combine the practice of law with athletic accomplishment in their personal lives are shared.
