Guns, crime, and academics: some reflections on the gun control debate

Article Abstract:

Thomas Marvell states that his research shows that laws banning juvenile gun possession do not reduce homicide or suicide rates. He should point out that such laws are bad policy because they actually increase crime against juveniles. Not making complete conclusions based on objective research lessens the political value of academic study.
