Have tech, will travel; should you pack a portable PC or pocket a PalmPilot?
Article Abstract:
Some business travelers insist on taking a notebook computer when traveling, while others feel the PalmPilot is enough, an electronic calendar and information manager that communicates with an office computer and can be updated from remote sites. A PalmPilot and and notebook computer proponent debate the issue, saying that the PalmPilot's size makes it perfect for business travel, while to-do lists, memos, and an address book can be synchronized with the desktop computer and information input from office computers.

Vaccination season; Melissa wreaked havoc, so keep her viral kin away from unprotected systems
Article Abstract:
The Internet has become the main road for importing computer viruses into the office, with electronic mail the preferred transit. Offices allowing employees to receive personal e-mail at their desktops should strictly forbid opening attached executable programs, those with a file name typically ending in .exe. All network computers should come with updated virus detectors, and those provided by McAfee and Norton are inexpensive and should be part of each system.
