Hedonic damages catch on
Article Abstract:
Hedonic damages have gained credibility in the courtroom in recent years as several large awards have been made. The Supreme Court ruled on damages to compensate for the loss of enjoyment of life for the first time in Molzof v US (1992). The Court settled a two-decade debate on whether hedonic damages are punitive, ruling that they are not. The lower courts are currently divided on the issue of whether a victim needs to be mentally aware of loss of life's enjoyments to collect hedonic damages.

Sharp released the Zaurus 5000 in Fall 1995 and will release the Zaurus 5800 in Spring 1996. Both have made great strides over earlier versions. Hewlett Packard has also entered the market.
