Hitting your target with a cross-reference

Article Abstract:

Users may cross-reference paragraph numbers in WordPerfect for DOS 6.0 or WordPerfect for Windows 6.1 by using the product's counter, paragraph numbering or outline functions. After choosing an automatic numbering scheme and inserting the numbers, DOS users must add a target code after the automatic number. The target code allows the computer to identify the number to be cross-referenced. Users should select Mark, Mark Text and Cross-Reference Target. Users must give the target a name. After entering the target code, users must add a cross-reference code, which resides in the paragraph that refers to the target. To add a cross-reference code, users again choose Mark and Mark Text, but they then select the Mark Cross-Reference dialog and complete it. In the Windows program, users should choose the Tools menu, then select Cross-Reference. This will bring up the Cross-Reference Feature Bar, which users employ to add targets and cross-references.
