China: a most favored nation or a most feared nation - the PRC's latest anti-crime campaign and a possible U.S. response

The Chinese government's 1996 crackdown on crime exemplifies why the US should place human rights conditions on the renewal of Most-Favored-Nation (MFN) trade status to China.China's government continues its disregard for human rights and executes more people than any other country. The US should develop a multi-phased process linked to the improvement of human rights in China, which the Chinese government must complete before receiving full MFN status.

Class action litigation in China
Article Abstract:
Class action lawsuit strategies in China are successfully advancing individual interests because attorneys use methods which the government uses in the promulgation of its laws. Attorneys and litigants seek administrative procedures and media attention to advance their actions. These strategies are effective in gaining notice from officials or in expanding awareness of areas of law normally left unused.
