Is ethics a big man on campus?
Article Abstract:
Universities and colleges do not set students a good example of ethical conduct to follow in their later lives. The ethical nature of application procedures at top schools is questionable. They spend large sums of money on admissions literature, staff, campus visits, advertising and financial aid incentives. They seek a high applicant-enrollee ration so that they will be seen as 'good schools,' and the costs per applicant can be substantial. College athletes are exploited for the renown they can bring their schools and often leave college without degrees.

The booming business of business ethics
Article Abstract:
The growing concern with business ethics has led to important achievements in the three decades since the 1960s, but there are still many problems and much remains to be accomplished. Even though there are ethics committees in Congress, disclosures about violations often come from the media. There is much ambivalence about what constitutes an ethical concern. There tends to be a focus on dramatic issues at the expense of underlying trends. A heightened concern with ethics can lead to societal polarization, as with the issue of abortion.

Ethics and technology in developing nations
Article Abstract:
Information technology in developing nations requires a special awareness of security needs and ethical considerations. These nations often do not have comprehensive laws covering privacy issues and access to personal information. In the absence of proper laws, information can be stolen, misused for discriminatory purposes, or improperly released. Protection of personal information and access control should be major issues in developing countries, but these items usually are not priorities in such nations.
