Article Abstract:

The International Court of Justice upheld the validity of a treaty between Hungary and Slovakia to construct a series of locks along the Danube river. The court based its holding upon the the 1969 Vienna Convention provisions on the Law of Treaties, and the law of state responsibility. This result provides insight into the court's ability to set legal guidelines for the settlement of political issues between two states.

Foreign terrorist organizations - rights under U.S. Constitution - scope of judicial review of Secretary of State's designation

Article Abstract:

The author examines the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit's decision in People's Mojahedin Organization v. Department of State, in which two groups designated as foreign terrorists under the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act petitioned for judicial review to challenge the designation.

Article Abstract:

The author discusses the US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit's decision in Sea Hunt, Inc. v. Unidentified Shipwrecked Vessel or Vessels, in which the court voided salvage permits for sunken warships claimed by Spain on the grounds that they were not deemed abandoned.
