Philip S. Beck one of The National Law Journal's top ten litigators suggests keeping the message simple in order to win the confidence of jury members. Mr. Beck suggests that general themes work well after a detailed opening statement has been presented and that visuals can be used to punctuate long presentations. As well he finds the flexibility allowed by laptop computers an asset in the court room.

Kopff, a medical malpractice defense litigator, advises admitting early any weaknesses in a case. He also suggests that defense attorneys chose a defense strategy and stick with it even if opposing counsel poses tempting targets for reply.
