Nonprofit hospital mergers and the exercise of market power
Article Abstract:
The author examines the US Dept of Justice's undifferentiated treatment of nonprofit and for-profit hospital mergers. Results indicate private hospitals price lower than for-profits in their markets and mergers do not appear to change this.
