Article Abstract:

Different views in the US and the United Kingdom on the progress made by woman and minorities in the legal profession discussed at the ABA's annual conference for 2000 in London are described. Topics included the continued existence of a glass ceiling in the profession and forecasts for the jury system.

Article Abstract:

The wave of class action lawsuits regarding the drug Ritalin and its use for Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder (ADHD) is discussed. The suits charge failure to warn consumers about the drug's potentially serious side effects and advertising Ritalin as effective when it has no long-term effects on ADHD-like symptoms.
