The author shares how memories of the grief caused by his late mother's last illness and her desire to help people inspired him to obtain a master's degree in social work and a law school degree.

Patent war pending; court to hear case that makes infringement claims more difficult
Article Abstract:
A Federal Circuit patent case to which the Supreme Court has granted certiorari is discussed. Festo made litigation victories easier for companies charged with infringing patents when they could show small changes in details from patented inventions in their designs.
