Ski resorts and national forests: rethinking Forest Service management practices for recreational use

Article Abstract:

The argument that National Forest resource management would ameliorate the protection of our forest reserves and the relationship between the Forest Service and developers, recreational users and environmental activists were it to use the rationales of the EPA's Project XL is made. Project XL rewards superior performance and innovation in environmental protection.

Culture v. conservation: does a proposed special regulation threaten the integrity of the National Park System?

Article Abstract:

The Department of the Interior has proposed that the Hopi Tribe be allowed to hunt protected Golden Eagles in a national monument for use in religious ceremonies. This article argues that the Department of the Interior does not have the power to grant the Hopi Tribe this right.
