Taxes as ballots
Article Abstract:
Taxpayers' tax form choices regarding whether to contribute to political campaigns or charitable organizations can be used as evidence of social choice. Checkoffs on tax forms are effectively similar in function to political balloting, particularly in the area of charitable contributions. This form of social choice may be useful in other areas amenable to tax deductions or other tax related items.

Buildings take a starring role on the silver screen

Buildings have often taken a dominant role in films including The Towering Inferno, Howards End and The Belly of an Architect. The classic silent film Metropolis by Fritz Lang, created sets producing illusions of towering buildings. The 'dream house' concept has appeared in such films as Mr Blandings Builds his Dream House and The Money Pit.
