The Fifty Most Influential Women Lawyers in America
Article Abstract:
A survey of the 50 most influential US attorneys is given. Women have made up 37% of all law school graduates since 1987 and 27% of US lawyers, but only eight of the National Law Journal's 1997 survey of the 100 most influential US attorneys. This scarcity of women at the top of the US legal profession masks the very real progress they have made. The number of women who have spent three decades in the profession has grown and in this time they have achieved prominence in areas such as government, academia, and in corporate work.
