Mining data from the Census Board

Article Abstract:

The Bureau of Census can be a very important resource of information specially to computer oriented reporters and editors. The bureau offers data on different subjects, including politics, business and social issues. These information can be accessed via its Internet site, electronic mailing lists, a dial-up computer bulletin board and a databank retrievable through CompuServe and Dialog. Moreover, the bureau sells these data on CD-ROM, nine-track magnetic tapes and diskettes.

The new Lutrelle F. Parker, Sr. Memorial Law Library

Article Abstract:

The Lutrelle F. Parker, Sr. Memorial Law Library, dedicated June 19, 1995, is named in honor of the former Deputy Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks who died in Dec 1994, following a forty year career in the Patent Office. The patent law library's name was selected in a contest. Parker's professional achievements and the building dedication ceremony are described.

Henri Rey: The inventor from Tahiti

Article Abstract:

A four-wheel cart that could be pushed or pulled, and a bicycle on which Henri Rey ran errands for his father were some of his inventions, as he had great curiosity about just anything mechanical. The life history of this Tahiti inventor is mentioned.
