Uphill but satisfying struggles of an animal rights attorney; federal legislation to aid animals is sadly lacking
Article Abstract:
A lawyer who happened into work as an animal lobbyist and then went to law school tells of her career. After law school she found a job with the Farm Animal Reform Movement reviewing federal legislation benefitting animals and subsequent jobs were at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and the Animal Defense Fund. The Michigan firm of Smith, Haughey, Rice and Roegge, her most recent employer, allows her to spend much of her time on animal rights cases.
