When lawyers clash with superiors
Article Abstract:
Improving office relationships can increase productivity and lessen turnover. Junior-level attorneys can improve their situation by requesting feedback on a regular basis. That way they can make adjustments before inappropriate ways of working become ingrained. Lower-level attorneys need to be assertive but diplomatic when their workload is unmanageable. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can help analyze work styles so that people can modify their habits and work more effectively together.

Large pool of lawyers available; lateral moves
Article Abstract:
The recession's side effects of widespread layoffs and reduced hiring have made a large pool of attorneys available as lateral hires. Law firms have little interest in risk-taking during a recession, and potential lateral hires usually have to go through extensive background checks. Lateral hires usually come on board as senior associates, contract attorneys or of counsel for at least a year. Litigation was the first specialty area to experience an increase in lateral hires in 1992.
