Price-cap regulation and service-quality in telecommunications: an empirical study

The basic aspects of the Multivariate Statistical Analysis and Data Envelopment Analysis techniques are presented to examine the service-quality performance under different price-cap regulatory regimes in United States local telephony for the period 1996-1998.

The advantage of network size in acquiring new subscribers: A conditional logit analysis of the Korean mobile telephony market
Article Abstract:
Consumers prefer carriers with a larger number of subscribers other things being equal, as per the analysis of conditional logit. It shows that the intra-network call discounts and the quality signaling effect are likely the sources of the size effect.

The relationship of firms, which have two-sided networks with consumers, and their overall behavior in the market, is analyzed. The welfare issues and pricing strategies of different market structure in relation to their consumers are discussed.
