Toll price elasticities estimated from a sample of U.S. residential telephone bills
Article Abstract:
Data obtained from PNR and Associates' Bill Harvesting are utilized to estimate the demands for intralata, interlata/intrastate and interlata/interstate toll calling on the part of individual households. Around 6500 households has been used in the estimation which proved useful and innovative. The utilization of a call concentration index has provided for the easy estimation of models for intralata and interlata toll from a consistent body of data. The results showed an estimated price elasticity of -0.44 and -0.50 for intralata toll and interstate toll, respectively.

Demand for international telephone traffic in Spain: an econometric study using provincial panel data
Article Abstract:
The demand for outgoing international telephone traffic in Spain is influenced by several factors. These factors are price, income, volume of foreign tourism and number of foreign residents in each province. Equations for the expenditure on international traffic per line and for the number of international calls per line were obtained based on the 1985-1989 provincial panel data which take into account interprovincial differences.
