From socialist realism to anarchist capitalism: Cuban cyberpunk
Article Abstract:
Cuban cyberpunk developed during the special period in time of peace of the 1990s, incorporating international cyberpunk while subverting other literary models and genres, including socialist realism and its hero, the new socialist man. Among its youngest generation of science fiction writers, Yoss, Vladimir Hernandez and Michel Encinosa Fu created a never before seen hero, defiant of the late capitalist world and impregnated with a traditional anarchist view against the state.

A stereoscopic vision of the future: Albert Robida's twentieth century
Article Abstract:
The author discusses the significance of science fiction writer Albert Robida, and his contributions to the genre. Robida is overshadowed by his influence, Jules Verne, in science fiction criticism. His realistic, original, multi-narrative prose, and his movement away from the standard utopian-focused science fiction, mark Robida as a distinct voice in the history and construction of modern science fiction.
